Velky Brands, LLC a Houston based national e-commerce retailer, has expanded in Pennsylvania by opening a fulfillment center in 80,880 square feet leased from Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services at 275 CenterPoint Boulevard in CenterPoint Commerce and Trade Park East.
An affiliate of Velky Brands, Corporate Support and Fulfillment, LLC will use the space to distribute products for two of Velky’s recognized internet brands, RTIC Coolers and Cheap Cheap Moving Boxes.com.
RTIC Coolers is the leading online direct-to-consumer retailer of premium roto-molded coolers, soft-sided coolers, and stainless-steel drinkware and has more than 1.9 million Facebook followers. The company recently had the #1 best seller in Amazon’s 60+ million home and kitchen product category. Velky’s Cheap Cheap Moving Boxes.com brand is the largest direct-to-consumer retailer of moving boxes and moving supplies in the U.S. and has been growing more than 40 percent annually.
Velky Brands, LLC was founded by twin brothers John and Jim Jacobsen and employs more than 120 people. The company is based in the Houston suburb of Cypress, Texas and operates fulfilment centers in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Fresno, and now CenterPoint. Velky Brands, LLC provides free one to two-day shipping on all orders of their Internet brands received by 6 p.m.
“Velky’s e-commerce business continues to grow, and with it the demand for increased distribution and fulfillment operations,” said Jim M. Jacobsen, Co-CEO of Velky Brands, LLC. “Our new Pennsylvania facility will be a key factor in the growth of rticcoolers.com and cheapcheapmovingboxes.com, and we are pleased to be able to invest resources and create jobs in Greater Pittston.”
Mericle Vice President Bob Besecker coordinated the real estate transaction. Besecker said Mericle finds Velky Brands’ rapid growth very appealing. “We think we are a good fit for the company,” said Besecker. “We have just the type and size of space Velky needs today and perhaps more importantly, we have space within our CenterPoint portfolio to accommodate the company’s future needs.”
Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michelle Mikitish said Velky Brands’ decision further solidifies CenterPoint as a prime location for companies specializing in e-commerce. “CenterPoint’s immediate interstate access, its close proximity to FedEx, UPS, and the U.S. Postal Service, and Mericle’s speculative building program will no doubt continue to attract companies like Velky Brands well into the future,” said Mikitish.
CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park was developed by Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services. The park is home to 47 tenants that together employ more than 5,300 people.
