The most visible site in CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park East in Jenkins Township will soon become home to a 232,500 square foot speculative industrial building.
Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services has begun construction on the facility at 500-548 Keystone Avenue in Jenkins Township. Drivers on Interstates 81 and 476 will see steel rising in October.
Company President Robert Mericle announced the project saying the facility will be ready for tenants in early to mid-2017. He said the building is being constructed on a site his company prepared in advance. He said the “ReadyToGo!™ Site had been cleared, graded, and compacted and was ready for the immediate construction of the building’s foundations.
“Having our ReadyToGo!™ Sites in place makes it possible for us to react to market demand and get new space ready very quickly,” he said. He added that Mericle has developed dozens of ReadyToGo!™Sites! in CenterPoint that can accommodate buildings from 10,000 square feet to 1 million square feet. He said they are also available for build-to-suit projects for industrial, office, and medical companies.
Mericle said he expects the new building to be attractive to a variety of manufacturing and distribution companies, especially those seeking a high profile location. He said the project site is immediately adjacent to I-81 and I-476 and is passed by approximately 75,000 vehicles per day.
When construction is finished, there will be 29 buildings totaling seven million square feet in CenterPoint. More than 40 companies with approximately 4,500 employees now call CenterPoint home.

It fashions itself as a throwback to the “master builder” of old when experienced craftsmen self-performed all aspects of the construction process.
