PECO Pallet, a Yonkers, New York based pallet rental services company has leased industrial space from Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services in Humboldt Industrial Park, Hazle Township, Luzerne County. The firm expects to create 40 new jobs.
The company has leased 98,518 square feet at 1104 North Park Drive and will use the space to receive, sort, store, repair, and reissue wooden pallets. The firm provides millions of high-quality block pallets to major grocery and consumer goods manufacturers throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. A high percentage of grocery, warehouse, club, and discount retailers in the United States utilize the firm’s signature red pallets.
Mericle Vice President Jim Hilsher coordinated the real estate transaction with CBRE, Inc. Vice President Vincent Ranalli, who represented the pallet company.
“PECO Pallet is a fast growing, expanding company,” said Hilsher. “The company is known for its customer service and its commitment to excellence. We look forward to having their pallets and 40 new employees in our Humboldt building.”
The pallet firm joins E.S. Kluft & Company as the second tenant in the 410,000 square foot building. The California manufacturer of luxury mattresses recently leased close to 100,000 square feet in the building and will create 50 new jobs.
CAN DO, Inc. President Kevin O’Donnell said recent months have brought a renewed interest in Humboldt, which bodes well for the immediate future. “E.S. Kluft & Company, Genco ATC, and now PECO Pallet are making major investments in the park and overall activity appears to be on the rise,” he said. “We look forward to working with Mericle to keep this positive momentum going in the weeks and months ahead.”
Mericle constructed the building on speculation and continues to market the remaining available space to a variety of industrial companies. Close to 213,000 square feet remain available for lease.
Mericle has developed 12 buildings totaling more than 4.3 million square feet in Humboldt Industrial Park. Mericle’s park tenants and clients include Amazon.com, Michael’s Handcrafts, Econoco, Natures’s Bounty, Freedom Corrugated, E&B Giftware and Simmons. More than 12,000 people work in the 16.5 million square feet of commercial space Mericle has developed in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
